Q.What are RMF challenges?
A.RMF Challenges are photography challenges set by you lot! It is normally a simple subject and then you submit images based on that subject. It started out that I would set a simple photography challenge for a few of my buddies and we’d see how they got on, but then when more people started showing interest I decided to make it so that people can set their own challenges. Check out the existing challenge galleries to get an idea.
Q.How long does a challenge last?
A.Well, this is the interesting bit you see. When I accept a challenge and put it on the site the end date will be set but hidden from view until twenty four hours before the challenge is due to end! It is my thinking that it will encourage people to get the entries in quickly so they don’t miss out.
Q.How many images can I submit for a challenge?
A.Basically after a lot of sitting and thinking loudly I decided on two. One is possible a bit restrictive and unlimited means that you just keep trying. Two is just right to allow you to judge your own work and decided on your two favourite images.
Q.If I submit a challenge, will it definitely be used?
A.Not necessarily, while there will be multiple challenges running at any given time. Not all entries will become challenges. I will be selecting the most creative and the most interesting ones. Also it wouldn’t be sensible to have four hundred challenges all running at once.
Q.What type of challenges are there?
A.Good question! There are three. Photography, Animation and Film.
Q.Can I submit an image on the site using my iOS device?
A.Not exactly, iOS does not allow you to upload files via it’s browser. So mobile file uploads on web sites using the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad is not possible. This is why you can only upload files (pictures, etc.) using native apps such as the Facebook App, etc. Safari simply doesn’t let you do file uploads on the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. However if you need to send the image from your device you can always email it to info@ratemyfuneral.com
Q.I made an animation, can I upload it to the site?
A.No, the site doesnt support video uploads. Please upload your video to www.vimeo.com and then send the link via the submit a video form.
